I have a MSc (1997) and a PhD (2001) in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Porto.
I am a Professor at the Department of Computer Engineering of the School of Engineering of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto.
I was a researcher at the Systems and Robotics Institute , Industrial Automation Group (University of Porto), from 1994 to 1996, in the area of Real-Time Control Systems.
I'm currently in the IPP-HURRAY! research group, a group that undertakes research in the analysis, design and implementation of real-time and dependable computing systems. My research work has the objective of analysis, design and implementation of software platforms and mechanisms for QoS-aware Real-Time Systems. I am specially interested in Ada (have a look at Ada 2005!), a very good language for Real-Time applications.
