Palestra "Let's talk about transpilers"
O DEI convida à participação na Palestra – "Let's talk about transpilers", que terá lugar no dia 15 de junho (quarta-feira), às 16h, em língua inglesa.
Abstract
Many companies created their software tens of years ago, and they have since extended it and evolved it, until it became a vital component of their activities. However, there are situations that may force companies to migrate their software to different platforms or programming languages, putting at risk the huge investments done.
In this presentation, we will look at which factors bring companies to perform these migrations. We will then look at how these migrations can be handled. We will then discuss how transpilers can be designed to automatically migrate the code. Finally, we will share some ideas for future improvements in this field.

Federico Tomassetti is a Language Architect at Strumenta, a boutique consulting studio he co-founded. In his role at Strumenta, Federico is involved in different Language Engineering projects, ranging from the definition of Domain Specific Languages for different domains, to the design of transpilers, editors, interpreters, and compilers. He got his PhD in Language Engineering between Italy and Germany. He speaks regularly at conferences and organize the Strumenta Community, to held discussions around Language Engineering.
