Prompt Engineering: How to get more from your AI
Prompt engineering is the skill (and some say art) of specifying a problem clearly, which engineers already do well. This minds on is designed to explore with teachers how to get reliable results from generative AI, and how to recognise where it fails. It covers how to save time on routine teaching tasks such as exercises and materials. It also covers the ethical side: academic integrity, student data privacy, bias, and transparency. Finally, we explore how to help students use AI critically, through both better prompting for redesigned assessments and also providing guidance on how students prompt themselves.

Margarida Afonso is Head of the AI Centre of Excellence at Optimizer, leading AI strategy, adoption, and implementation across the organization. As Senior Program Manager, she has delivered large international transformation programmes with multicultural teams of over 100 people. She is a Guest Lecturer at ISEP and a mentor for women in tech, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Generative Artificial Intelligence.
